In the January/February 2014 edition of Community Manager, the Community Association Institute’s newsletter, the history and evolution of Lieberman Management Services is written about in detail.
Written by Editor Julie Warren, the article chronicles the beginnings of Lieberman Management Services up until present day.
Stan Lieberman, founder of LMS, is interviewed about getting started in the business in 1970 with a one-room brokerage business in Buffalo Grove, Ill. By using video to record interiors and exteriors of homes – an innovative technology at the time – his brokerage business was propelled ahead of local competitors and was featured on the front page of The New York Times real estate section.
Building on that success, Lieberman Management Services began buying residential buildings and converting them into condominiums – which led to managing the Associations as well. The rest, as they say, is history.
Also featuring quotes from Co-Chair Jim Pio and CEO Carla Kennedy, the piece reports about major moves in LMS’s recent history – its expansion into the downtown Chicago market, the continued emphasis on technology and innovation, the development of a unique customer service model and the focus on their managed Associations’ long-term stability and infrastructure.
